Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 7, 2026
In short: your photos and face data never leave your iPhone. We don't collect personal data, no server of ours receives your information, and there are no accounts, analytics or ads.
AgeReel is made by Nir Politi ("we"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the AgeReel app for iPhone.
Photos and videos
With your permission, AgeReel reads photos and videos from your photo library, or from files and folders you choose. It uses them only on your device to build your timelapse. Photos and videos are never uploaded. If you save a video, it goes to your photo library.
Face data
To align photos and to find photos of the same person or pet, AgeReel detects faces and eyes and creates face signatures, which are numbers that describe a face. This uses Apple's Vision framework and a model that runs on your device.
- Face signatures are stored only on your iPhone.
- They are excluded from iCloud backups.
- They are used only to find and align photos inside AgeReel, and are never shared, sold or used for any other purpose.
- Deleting a project or the app deletes them.
Optional iCloud backup
If you turn it on, AgeReel saves your choices (names, relation, birthdays, settings, photo dates and photo library IDs) to your own iCloud account so you can restore them on another device. It contains no photos and no face data. It is off by default, and we cannot access your iCloud.
Notifications
If you ask for a yearly reminder, AgeReel schedules a notification on your device. Nothing is sent to us.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We don't receive your name, email or payment details.
Children
Parents can use AgeReel to make videos of their children from their own photos. We don't collect information about anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
